A stop motion film using LEGO figures.

A great deal of patience and months of hard work by three students of the FH Offenburg went into this film to give the 1954 final a unique perspective.
Crates full of Lego were used to achieve the World Cup's stadium level of detail. The Lego figures were shot frame by frame using stop motion technique.
The animated film by Florian Plag, Martin Seibert, and Ingo Dominik Steidl was a story of success from the start: at first it was available on the Internet only but following a review by Spiegel Online millions of people saw it. Sönke Wortmann ("Das Wunder von Bern") became aware of the film and started giving interviews together with the filmmakers. Then 40 prints were done and the film was shown as a supporting film before "Das Wunder von Bern".
