From 1910 during half a century  the film pioneer Julius Pinschewer (1883-1961) was very important for the German-speaking advertising film . He has founded a half-dozen companies and has escorted and produced to 700 entertaining promotional films.Already in 1912 Pinschewer impressed with animated cartoons for companies like Maggi and Kupferberg. After the First World War he worked with famous film artists like Walter Ruttmann, Lotte Reininger and Guido Seeber for productions which are today classics of commercial films. Pinschewer used all possibilities of the cartoon technology: Animation in the most different variations, various of coloration and technicolor – Pinschewer was a trendsetter of creative and technical innovations of the commercial film. DIE CHINESISCHE NACHTIGALL is the worldwide first advertising film with sound! The DVD contains a choice of the best films from Pinschewers production. It is at the same time a compendium to the history of the commercial film and animated cartoon in Germany and Switzerland.
